Inspired By: English Countryside
It’s a dream of mine to have a farm in the english countryside, complete with rose gardens and a lots of friendly sheep! While that vision may be far off, I'm still inspired by the interiors and aesthetic of English countryside and bringing that into my own home. I’ve had a love affair with England since long before I ever even got the chance to visit (or live I should say when I studied abroad) and it’s only picked up ever since! Whether I’m deep in a book set in England or watching The Crown or Downton Abbey, I’m always gathering inspiration from this beautiful part of the world. I picture a roaring fireplace on a brisk day, pulling on my wellies and Barbour jacket for a long walk through the meadow and tending to my sheep and cutting some flowers from my lush garden to make an arrangement, before curling up with a good book and a hot cuppa. I mean, that sounds like the perfect afternoon right?
As you’ll see below, common design themes of lots of books around the house, floral patterned textiles, muted greens and pinks, and cozy, layered textures essentially bring the beauty of the outdoors (rolling green hills and lush floral gardens) inside with an added dash of warm practicality. These homes look like they’ve been well loved for generations, but still orderly, collected, and adored.
