Charcuterie Dinner

Charcuterie Dinner

For the last few months, we've adopted "Charcuterie Mondays" for dinner. Typically, we (I mean, Austin :)) will grocery shop on Monday mornings, so that is when our food is the freshest. We've slowly added in new foods to our spread, but I think we've perfected it now! The best part of Charcuterie Monday is little clean up (we don't even eat off plates, but right off the platter) and no cooking! Austin is an amazing cook and I'm so lucky that he genuinely enjoys it. My cooking skills have really fluctuated during our 2 years of marriage, but I feel like Charcuterie Monday has bought me some time. We both love the freshness of the produce, the variety of flavors and textures, and the savory and satisfying baguette that we buy the day of. Most people usually put out a cheese plate similar to this when hosting friends or family over, but we've taken it a step further and a little more healthy to make it a pretty well rounded dinner! We hope you're inspired to create your own- especially during the summer months, there is nothing better than nibbling outside after a long day. Turn on your favorite tunes and you're practically on vacation! If only I could get away with charcuterie for dinner every night... Check our favorite charcuterie additions below.

Abby has it spot on when she says that we've been loving some charcuterie. If my life were summed up in a couple of words it would be cured meat and cheese with a heaping pile of bread. The wine then becomes a bonus! It is super easy to throw together and you really can't go wrong as this is a combination of items that you love to begin with. If you like goat's cheese or blue cheese then go for it. If you prefer crackers to bread or pita chips, that works too. You can swap out any nut or fruit that you're feeling and you honestly don't even have to have the meat if you don't love it. The wine is just as interchangeable. We are no wine experts so again, drink what you love, whether that's white, red, sparkling or even a cocktail (Gin is certainly my summer go to but tequila or vodka cocktails can be great too) or mocktail (shirley temple or arnold palmer anyone). What's most fun about this is the experience of it all: tasty snacks, refreshing drinks, good music, and great company. So put the phones away, relax, kick back and ENJOY!
